James Watson, Elizabeth Parnaby and their descendants

James and Elizabeth were my great grandparents and I am researching their lines.

James Watson (b Gilling 1847) married Elizabeth Shaw Parnaby (b Gilling 1849) and had 6 children

• Eleanor Jane Watson (b Gilling 1870 d 1945) married George Henry Appleton (1873-1926) in 1896. They had two children.
  • Edith May Appleton (1901-1939)
  • Leslie Alexander Appleton (1904-1949) who married Florence Craggs.
    Known surviving descendent.
• John Thomas Watson (b Gilling 1873) may not have married as he was still a bachelor in 1911 at age 38.
• Frances Hannah Watson (b Gilling 1873 d 1948) married John George Windress in 1902. Their daughter
  • Dorothy Windress (Dot Tanfield) (1902-2004) married Arthur Ronald Tanfield (Ron) in 1933
• Laura Watson (1877 - 1960) married William Todd (1878-1943) and had three children
  • Gladys Todd who married Francis Skilbeck (Frank Skilbeck)
  • Marjorie Todd (Madge) who married Bert Simms
  • Kathleen Todd who married Herbert Godley (Bert Godley)
                    All three have known surviving descendants.
• Amy Mary Watson (b Gilling 1879) married John Vere Wood in 1911 and lived in Northallerton
• Edwin Watson  (b 1881) married Florence Gertrude Curtis (b 1882) in 1915. They had two children.
  • James Leslie Watson (1916)
  • Kathleen Morse Elizabeth Watson (Kitty) (1927-2008)

Prior enquiries had resulted in following the tree for the wrong Laura Watson, our Laura is not a descendant of David John Watson (1845 - 1883) and Jane Pease (1841 - 1927)
