Diana, Princess of Wales
It is twenty years since Diana, Princess of Wales, was killed in a car crash in Paris in August 1997 (or at least it was 20 years when this page was written). Her death sent shock waves through the country and many people sought ways to pay tribute to her.
In Bagshot ther Queen Victoria monument in the centre of The Square became a focus, perhaps in a way a shrine, being adorned with flowers and messages.
The photographs here were taken on 6th September 1997, we think by the late John Jillings, and came to light when the Archaeology Center was being cleared.
