Plessey Addlestone Reunion

Reunions for all staff who ever worked for Plessey at Addlestone, Weybridge, Surrey, UK, have been held about every two years.

Fourth time lucky?

We have a new date.

building frontage Tony has booked the Addlestone Community Centre for Friday 13th May 2022.

Please put the date in your diary, details to follow nearer the time.

The start of the coronavirus pandemic caused the reunion planned for 15th May 2020 to be postponed. We optimistically rescheduled it for 18th September but it soon became clear that this revised date was not viable either so it was rearranged for Friday 23rd April 2021. All looked encouraging until the 'new varient' emerged. It became clear that it was too optimistic to anticipate being able to meet in 2021. So we find ourselves looking at May 2022 - a full two years later than we had hoped for.

Our last reunion was on Friday 13th April 2018 at the Addlestone Community Centre. It was attended by 125 former employees, some travelling from as far afield as France and Germany. It was judged by all to have been a great success. The modest entry charge not only covered costs but made a profit which was donated to the Princess Alice Hospice.

It is amazing that 30 years after the company was taken over in a hostile bid, and over 20 years since the site was closed, former employees meet with such enthusiasm to reminisce and to catch up with what their friends and colleagues have been doing since.
